The Power of Music

Sometimes, when you hear a certain song, it moves you; it transforms you; it sends you into another place and time where when you close your eyes you can feel the rhythm, melody, and words permeate your very being to the point of bliss. Your mood can be lifted and your heart can fill with contentment just by hearing just the right song as it travels through your headphones, warmly streaming through your body, up through your mind and out through a smile, head nod, or even dance move or two. That is the power of music.

When you connect with such an impressionable song, you tend to not only rush to download it, but you may also search for videos on YouTube, seek for covers done by other artists, expand your listening horizons by enjoying an acoustic version, and perhaps even compare a parody if it. Sometimes, if the song impacts others like it has you, you’ll find videos or people dancing to it. No matter what you find, your love for the song grows more and more passionate.

2017 brought an astounding number of such experiences into my life with songs like “Wolf” by Selena Gomez, “Too Good at Goodbyes” by Sam Smith, and “Symphony” by Zara and Clean Bandit, just to name a few. I witnessed the inevitable rise of Anne Marie and her song “Rockabye”, sung in conjunction with Sean Paul, as she soulfully sings of a mother trying to provide the best for her baby. I also discovered the talented music of Dua Lipa, another pop singer whose rise to stardom is just beginning.

Over the past year, while bathing in the warm, pure music of these and several other songs, I came to realize that my overall music experience was enhanced through the help of excellent headphones. When you press play on your device and your ears are delivered crisp, vibrant, and pure sound, your listening experienced transcends to a whole new level. The warmth you feel listening to your favorite song is escalated exponentially.

There are two sets of headphones that have brought me such exceptional music quality that I’d highly recommend. The first is the Bose QC25 which is a high-quality noise-cancelling model. These headphones provide a deep and powerful sound and deliver a lightweight and comfortable fit. With the QC25 on, you can block out the world around you with ease, immersing yourself entirely in the whole spectrum of your music. However, these should definitely be used with caution seeing as they are so great at cancelling out the noises around you. In fact, while wearing these, I became so engrossed in the music that I almost got hit by a motorcycle because I didn’t hear it coming!

The second pair of headphones that I would recommend is the 1More Triple Driver In-Ear headphones. These are high-resolution earbuds that deliver an amazingly accurate bass-driven sound with incredible clarity. The 1More Triple Driver headphones were designed with the help of the internationally acclaimed sound engineer Luca Bignardi who helped make these earbuds deliver the most precise depiction of the music to your ears. One plus side to these particular headphones is that they cost less than the QC25’s and are priced at or around $90.

Music has the power to transform your mood, your energy level, or even your day. The right song for the right moment is something that produces a joy and contentment that goes beyond words. And when you find the right song for the right moment and have the right headphones, it is almost a guarantee that you will have a smile on your face.
